With Gears of Wars 4 just days away from release, gamers around the world are waiting for the game to come out, and now the publisher has given us some answers.
In an interview with Eurogamer, Gears of Peace studio Gearbox Software producer Phil Spencer has confirmed that the upcoming title will be released this month, but it’s not yet known when the game will launch or when it will come out on Xbox One.
“We’re doing a beta in January,” Spencer told Eurogamer.
“And we’re really hoping that it gets out in March or April.
We’ve got two weeks to get it out.
The beta period will be a very long time, probably up to two months.
That’s why we’re making sure we can do it right, but we’re also making sure that it’s very polished, that it looks great, and it feels great. “
Gears of War is the first of our big franchises that we’ve made, and I think we’re doing it in a way that people want to play it.
That’s why we’re making sure we can do it right, but we’re also making sure that it’s very polished, that it looks great, and it feels great.
So we’re very, very confident in how it’s going to play.”
Gears will be available for Windows PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One X in April and will also be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox 360.
“We’ve got a lot of new features coming to Gears of Warfare that you can see in the preview video, like co-op multiplayer, and new modes, so there’s a lot we can look forward to coming out on all platforms,” Spencer said.
“But the biggest thing is the fact that we’re not releasing it until April.”
While Spencer and his team have hinted at a PC release, we’re still waiting to see if Gears of Justice 2 will be coming to PC either, although Spencer has previously indicated that he’d love to see a PC version.
